The Hidden Dragon Ring

A stunning piece borne of many painstaking hours!

This ring is crafted in solid sterling silver and is cast via the ancient lost wax method. A technique that has been in practice for over 6 millennia.

Adorning the dragon's scales are many tiny natural Mozambique garnets and tsavorite garnets, totaling over a hundred individual stones.

These rings are open/adjustable. However, the adjustment is very stiff due to the thickness of the band, which averages abut 5mm thick (height off the finger) and about 6mm wide.

This ring is made to order. Please allow up to 5 weeks for your ring to be made and shipped.

The ring shown is the original and is a size 10. I'll be scaling the ring proportionately, depending on the ring size needed. Smaller rings will have a few less stones. Larger rings will have a few more stones.

Please note that this is a showpiece ring and is not meant for daily wear. It contains fragile elements such as the dragons whiskers. Wear with care and it will last many many years.

Customizing:
Yes, I do offer customizing for this ring. The two main aspects that can easily be changed are the types of stones used, and the type of metal used. Any changes will result in a change in price, so if you want to customize this, please contact me for a quote.

The history and inspiration of this Ring:

Inspired by a real buried treasure of the 21st century- this ring is designed to look just like the Golden Dragon bangle that was left inside a buried treasure chesty, by Forrest Finn in 2010 (See the last photo for a picture of that exact bangle).  A decade later, when the treasure was discovered, the Dragon bangle was sold at auction and acquired by Justin Posey, a prominent treasure hunter of the time. Justin was later featured on the Netflix Series: Gold and Greed. In this series, he reveals to the world that he has hidden a brand new treasure somewhere in the American West! One piece he included inside is the very same golden dragon bangle!

Origins of the bangle are murky at best. I asked Justin Posey what he knew about it. He revealed that he did not know much, except that Forrest Finn received it as a gift from Eric Sloane, the great American Painter and Author. Eric had originally commissioned the bangle as a gift for his wife. Who he commissioned it from, is unknown. The bangle was later gifted to Forrest Finn, after Eric Sloane's Death in 1985. Little else is known.

When I asked Justin for permission to create this inspired piece, he gave me his blessing. He mentioned that there was a certain identifying characteristic to the bangle, but he would not reveal what that was. Perhaps a makers mark?
