An ethereal look to the ametrine with it's soft buff-top finish, the dancing shift of light against the facets. If this ring had a legend behind it, it surely would speak of ancient times, a magic contained within...
I crafted this ring using the ancient technique of sand casting. This gave me a very rough yet bold basic form to work with. As I worked the metal to a finished piece, I slowly let the design unfold before me, no plan, just allowing the metal and gem to speak for themselves until I had arrived at a finished piece. These types of projects really speak to my sole as an artist.
The ring is heavy, about 21 grams, even though there is a large hole behind the stone for setting purposes and cleaning. The band itself is not hollowed out.
Ring size: 11
Metals:
Solid Sterling Silver, cast as a single pour.
Solid copper wire, soldered to the ring with silver solder. The copper does not go inside the band, thus skin contact is almost non-existent, if this concerns you.
Gem:
Natural ametrine. This stone has a faceted back, and a frosted domed top. As you turn it in your hand, you can faintly make out the light playing off the facets as well as a few small rainbows and cleavage planes within the stone. The stone measures 20mm x 12mm.
This ring is one of a kind. You'll receive the exact ring pictured. Ready to ship.
Cheers,
Austin
