Probably the heaviest ring I've made to date.
Not for the faint of heart, this ring is a real beast, literally. At over 3 ounces this work of art will be noticed anywhere it goes.
The ring was crafted by using a vintage rams head bolo tie, which I discovered at an estate sale in Morro Bay, CA. I decided to make a ring from it and carved the bottom wax by hand to match the shaggy fur of the mountain goat. To hide the slight seam between the two parts, I soldered a chain of solid 18 yellow gold droplets plus a solid cast 18k pentagon bezel to create a "pendant" around the neck. In this, I set a custom USA Cut natural blue sapphire.
Stats:
Weight: Over 3 ounces
Metals: Solid 925 sterling and Solid 18k yellow gold
Ring size: 12
Gemstone: Natural blue sapphire
Size: Horn tip to horn tip is about 1.75", and the entire bust is about 1.5" long. The highest point is almost a full 1" off the finger
I can size the band up slightly if needed.
One of a kind
Cheers,
Austin
