This is my original design for a huge root beer brown Smokey Quartz gem! I've been wanting to set this stone for a while, but wanted to wait for inspiration to strike. In this case, I decided the stone needed to be framed by stones, in a modern, two tone design.
I choose white CZ and black spinel for their durability and vivid white and black colors, the random alternating pattern on each side offers two extremes in contrast against the otherwise mid-toned brown of the quartz.
The band is cast as a single piece of silver, and the 18k yellow gold prongs and accents are all one solid piece, cast using lost wax. I also placed a hidden triangle pattern into the 18k gold under the smokey quartz. This can be seen in several of the photos either by peering through the quartz at certain angles, or peeking through one of the two windows on each side.
The light box gives this ring a soft look, but it is fully polished to a mirror finish.
Solid Sterling Silver and 18k yellow gold
Base of the ring has a Euro shank, to help prevent tipping
Accent stones: Black Spinel and White Cubic Zirconia
This is a finished design, ready to ship!
PS: I do not have any more of these stones in stock, but I can acquire more and make a similar ring in a different size by request if needed.
